Char Dham Tour Package from Haridwar Itinerary

Day 01: Haridwar – Barkot (Approx. 220 km / 7 Hours)

Your Char Dham Yatra from Haridwar begins with your arrival in Haridwar, where you will meet the TravelMurti representative and proceed towards Barkot.

Drive to Barkot via Mussoorie, enjoying the scenic mountain roads and beautiful surroundings of Uttarakhand. En route, visit Kempty Falls, one of the popular attractions near Mussoorie.

On arrival in Barkot, check in at the hotel and relax after the journey. Overnight stay in Barkot.

Day 02: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (Approx. 36 km Drive + 6 km Trek Each Way)

After breakfast, drive towards Janki Chatti, the starting point of the trek to Yamunotri. From Janki Chatti, begin the approximately 6 km trek to Yamunotri Temple. Pilgrims may complete the route on foot or use pony or doli services at their own expense, subject to availability.

On reaching Yamunotri, visit the sacred Surya Kund, a natural hot spring where devotees traditionally prepare rice as prasad. After bathing as permitted near the temple area, offer prayers at Divya Shila before proceeding for darshan of Goddess Yamuna at Yamunotri Temple.

After darshan and पूजा, trek back to Janki Chatti and drive to Barkot. Overnight stay in Barkot.

Yamunotri Temple: Dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, Yamunotri Temple is the first shrine traditionally visited during the Uttarakhand Char Dham Yatra.

Surya Kund: A sacred thermal spring located near Yamunotri Temple where pilgrims traditionally prepare offerings for the deity.

Divya Shila: A sacred stone near the temple that devotees worship before entering Yamunotri Temple.

Hanuman Chatti: A pilgrimage stop on the Yamunotri route located near the confluence of the Hanuman Ganga and Yamuna rivers.

Day 03: Barkot – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (Approx. 300 km / 7–8 Hours)

After breakfast, proceed towards Gangotri Dham. The journey takes you through the beautiful Himalayan landscapes of Uttarkashi district.

En route, enjoy views of the Bhagirathi River, mountains, valleys, and the picturesque surroundings of Harsil. On reaching Gangotri, visit Gangotri Temple and seek the blessings of Goddess Ganga.

After darshan, drive back towards Uttarkashi. On arrival, check in at the hotel for an overnight stay.

Gangotri Temple: Situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi River, Gangotri Temple is dedicated to Goddess Ganga and is the second sacred shrine on the traditional Char Dham route.

Submerged Shivling: A naturally occurring rock formation associated with the legend of Lord Shiva receiving the River Ganga in his matted locks. It may become visible when the river's water level is low.

Kedar Ganga Sangam: A sacred confluence near Gangotri where the Kedar Ganga meets the Bhagirathi River.

Day 04: Uttarkashi – Guptakashi (Approx. 190 km / 7 Hours)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin the drive from Uttarkashi to Guptakashi.

Travel through the scenic mountain roads and valleys of Uttarakhand as the journey continues towards the Kedarnath region. On arrival in Guptakashi, check in at the hotel and relax.

Overnight stay in Guptakashi.

Day 05: Guptakashi – Kedarnath

After breakfast, proceed towards the designated starting point for the Kedarnath trek as permitted under current local arrangements.

Begin the trek towards Kedarnath Dham, situated at an altitude of approximately 3,583 metres in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. Pilgrims can complete the journey on foot or use available pony or doli services at their own expense.

As Kedarnath is a high-altitude destination, travellers should carry essential personal medicines, warm clothing, toiletries, comfortable trekking footwear, and other necessities required for the journey and overnight stay.

On reaching Kedarnath, check in to the arranged accommodation and visit the sacred Kedarnath Temple for darshan of Lord Shiva.

Gaurikund: Gaurikund is an important pilgrimage point associated with Goddess Parvati and traditionally serves as a gateway to the Kedarnath trekking route.

Kedarnath Temple: Kedarnath is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and one of the four sacred shrines of the Uttarakhand Char Dham Yatra. Surrounded by the majestic Himalayan mountains, the temple is also closely associated with the legends of the Pandavas.

According to Hindu tradition, Lord Shiva took the form of a bull while avoiding the Pandavas. The hump is worshipped at Kedarnath, while other manifestations are associated with Tungnath, Rudranath, Madhmaheshwar, and Kalpeshwar. Together, these five Shiva temples are known as the Panch Kedar.

Day 06: Kedarnath – Guptakashi

Begin the morning with darshan and prayers at Kedarnath Temple. After completing the spiritual visit, start the return trek from Kedarnath.

On reaching the trek base, continue the onward journey towards Guptakashi. Check in at the hotel and rest after the Kedarnath pilgrimage.

Day 07: Guptakashi – Badrinath (Approx. 170 km)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive towards Badrinath Dham via the scenic Himalayan route.

On arrival in Badrinath, check in at the hotel. Later, visit Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, for darshan and evening Aarti, subject to temple timings and local arrangements.

Badrinath Dham: Located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand at an elevation of approximately 3,133 metres, Badrinath is one of the four sacred destinations of the Uttarakhand Char Dham Yatra. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in the form of Badrinarayan and is situated between the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges, with the Himalayan landscape surrounding the pilgrimage town.

Day 08: Badrinath – Haridwar

Begin the return journey from Badrinath to Haridwar in the early morning. Travel through the mountain routes of Uttarakhand as your 7 Nights / 8 Days Char Dham Yatra from Haridwar comes to an end.

On arrival in Haridwar, transfer to the designated drop-off point or Haridwar Railway Station as included in the package.

Tour concludes with the blessings and spiritual experiences of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
