Why Choose Kedarnath for Your Pilgrimage?
Kedarnath is one of the most sacred destinations for devotees of Lord Shiva. As one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the temple holds immense religious importance and attracts pilgrims from across India seeking the blessings of Lord Kedarnath.
According to Hindu tradition, Kedarnath is closely associated with the Pandavas. After the Mahabharata war, the Pandavas are believed to have sought Lord Shiva to receive absolution. Lord Shiva took the form of a bull, and the hump that appeared at Kedarnath came to be worshipped at the sacred shrine.
Beyond its religious significance, the journey to Kedarnath is an extraordinary Himalayan experience. The pilgrimage route passes through mountainous landscapes, river valleys, and high-altitude surroundings before reaching the ancient stone temple nestled beneath towering peaks.
For devotees seeking a combination of faith, Himalayan beauty, and pilgrimage, Kedarnath offers an experience that extends beyond temple darshan and makes the journey itself an important part of the spiritual experience.
