INTRODUCTION

Scenic Beauty and Trekking:

Kedarnath Temple: One of the twelve Jyotirlingas and among the holiest shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed to have been originally built by the Pandavas and later renovated by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. The temple stands at an elevation of about 3,583 meters (11,755 feet) above sea level and is surrounded by majestic snow-covered peaks, including the Kedar Dome.

Location and Access:

Kedarnath is nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas near the Chorabari Glacier, the source of the Mandakini River. The temple is not directly accessible by road; the nearest road head is Gaurikund. From there, pilgrims must trek approximately 16 kilometers to reach the temple. Helicopter services are also available for easier access.
