INTRODUCTION
A Jyotirlinga or Jyotirlingam is a devotional representation of the Supreme God Shiva. Jyoti means 'radiance' and lingam the 'image or sign' of Shiva; Jyotirlingam thus means the Radiant Sign of the Almighty Shiva. There are twelve traditional Jyotirlinga shrines in India.
Panch Jyotirlinga tour package covers five Jyotirlingas of the twelve located in Maharashtra. The Panch Jyotirlingas are namely Parali Vaijanath, Aundha Nagnath, Grushneshwar, Trimbakeshwar, and Bhimashankar.
Parali Vaijanath: Built out of stone on a small hill and surrounded by protective walls on all sides.
Aundha Nagnath: Considered the 8th of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples and believed to date back to the time of the Mahabharata.
Grushneshwar: Known as the last of the 12 Jyotirlingas.
Trimbakeshwar: One of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas located near Nashik.
Bhimashankar: A Jyotirlinga located near Pune amidst scenic surroundings.
